Grilled Ribeye Steak

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ribeye steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 sprig fresh rosemary (optional)

Steps

  1. Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder.
  3. Preheat a grill to high heat (450-500F) and clean the grates.
  4. Place steaks on the hot grill. For medium-rare, grill 4-5 minutes per side. For medium, grill 5-6 minutes per side.
  5. For crosshatch marks, rotate steaks 45 degrees halfway through each side's cooking time.
  6. Remove steaks from grill and let rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve whole or sliced against the grain, optionally garnished with fresh rosemary.
