Ground Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 cup broccoli florets
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cup cooked rice (optional)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.
- In a separate small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water to create a slurry. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add broccoli florets to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until broccoli is tender-crisp.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice, if desired, and garnish with sesame seeds.
