Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cup broccoli florets
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cup cooked rice (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.
  2. In a separate small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water to create a slurry. Set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add broccoli florets to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until broccoli is tender-crisp.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Serve immediately over cooked rice, if desired, and garnish with sesame seeds.
