Ground Beef and Cabbage Skillet
A hearty and simple one-pan meal featuring savory ground beef and tender sautéed cabbage, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- ¾ head green cabbage
- 1 medium yellow onion
- 3 clove garlic
- ½ cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
Steps
- Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces, dice the onion, and mince the garlic.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic, tomato paste, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using), cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add chopped cabbage, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
