Ground Turkey Goulash
A hearty and comforting American-style goulash featuring lean ground turkey, pasta, and a rich tomato sauce, perfect for a family meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 1 medium yellow onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 28 oz can canned diced tomatoes
- 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
Steps
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in diced tomatoes (undrained), tomato sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Stir in the elbow macaroni. Cover the skillet, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes. If desired, stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if using, and serve hot.
