Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 28 oz can canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)

Steps

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in diced tomatoes (undrained), tomato sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Stir in the elbow macaroni. Cover the skillet, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes. If desired, stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley, if using, and serve hot.
