Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ham steak
  • 20 oz canned pineapple rings
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)

Steps

  1. Drain pineapple rings, reserving 1/4 cup of the juice.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the reserved pineapple juice, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and black pepper to create the glaze.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ham steak and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Arrange pineapple rings around the ham steak in the skillet. Pour the glaze over the ham and pineapple.
  5. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, spooning the glaze over the ham and pineapple occasionally, until the glaze has thickened and the ham is heated through.
  6. Remove from heat, slice the ham steak, and serve with the glazed pineapple. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
