Quick-cooking ham steaks are pan-fried to perfection and coated in a sweet and savory brown sugar glaze for an easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 2 lb Ham steaks, bone-in or boneless
- ½ cup Brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp Water
- ¼ tsp Black pepper
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, water, and black pepper to create the glaze.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ham steaks to the hot skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, until lightly browned and heated through.
- Pour the brown sugar glaze over the ham steaks in the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, spooning the glaze over the ham, until the glaze thickens slightly and coats the ham.
- Remove ham steaks from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.
