Ingredients

  • 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions (optional)

Steps

  1. Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. In a small separate bowl, whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken thighs for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, turning to coat each piece thoroughly with the sauce. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the sauce is a thick glaze.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired, and serve immediately.
