Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs
Sweet and savory chicken thighs glazed with a sticky honey garlic sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 4 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
- 2 green onions (optional)
Steps
- Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. In a small separate bowl, whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken thighs for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Return chicken to the skillet, turning to coat each piece thoroughly with the sauce. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the sauce is a thick glaze.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired, and serve immediately.
