Oven Baked BBQ Ribs
Tender, fall-off-the-bone pork ribs slow-baked in the oven with a smoky, sweet BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
- 2½ lb pork spare ribs
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1½ cup BBQ sauce
Steps
- Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a large baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Pat the pork ribs dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) to create the dry rub.
- Generously rub the spice mixture all over the ribs. Place the ribs on the wire rack on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are very tender. The meat should pull away from the bone easily.
- Remove ribs from the oven. Increase oven temperature to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush both sides of the ribs generously with BBQ sauce. Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and slightly sticky.
- Remove from oven, let rest for 10 minutes, then slice into individual ribs and serve.
