Pan-Seared Salmon
Enjoy perfectly crispy skin and tender, flaky salmon with this simple yet elegant pan-seared recipe.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb salmon fillets, skin-on
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Steps
- Pat salmon fillets very dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-6 minutes, pressing gently with a spatula occasionally to ensure even contact with the pan, until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Flip the salmon and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time will vary based on thickness.
- Remove salmon from the skillet and let rest for a minute. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh lemon wedges and chopped parsley, if desired.
