Salmon Burger
A delicious and healthy salmon burger, seasoned with herbs and served on a bun with fresh toppings.
Ingredients
- 1¼ lb salmon fillet
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp fresh dill
- 1 lemon, zest and juice
- ¼ red onion
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 burger buns
- 4 lettuce leaves (optional)
- 4 tomato slices (optional)
- ¼ cup tartar sauce (optional)
Steps
- Pat salmon fillets dry and remove any skin. Finely chop the salmon or pulse in a food processor until coarsely ground.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped salmon, panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, fresh dill, lemon zest, lemon juice, finely minced red onion, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Form the mixture into four equal patties, about 1-inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the salmon burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Lightly toast the burger buns.
- Serve the salmon burgers on toasted buns with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce, if desired.
