Shrimp Louis Salad
A classic American salad featuring succulent shrimp, crisp lettuce, hard-boiled eggs, and a creamy, tangy Louis dressing.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb large cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, quartered
- 2 Roma tomatoes, quartered
- ½ cucumber, sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp prepared horseradish
- 2 green onions, chopped (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
Steps
- Prepare the Louis dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, horseradish, salt, and pepper until smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings.
- Arrange shredded iceberg lettuce evenly on four plates.
- Artfully arrange the cooked shrimp, hard-boiled egg quarters, tomato quarters, and cucumber slices over the lettuce on each plate.
- If using, add avocado slices to each salad.
- Drizzle a generous amount of Louis dressing over each salad.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of paprika, if desired, and serve immediately.
