Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken
Tender chicken breasts slow-cooked in a tangy and sweet BBQ sauce, perfect for sandwiches or a main dish.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 18 oz BBQ sauce
- ½ onion
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns (optional)
- 2 cup coleslaw (optional)
Steps
- Dice the half onion.
- Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Top with diced onion.
- Pour BBQ sauce over the chicken and onions. Ensure chicken is mostly covered.
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until chicken is very tender and easily shredded.
- Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
- Serve warm on hamburger buns with coleslaw, if desired, or as a main dish.
