Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 1½ cup whole milk
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp dry mustard powder (optional)
  • ½ tsp hot sauce (optional)

Steps

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente; drain well and set aside.
  2. Grease the inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with butter.
  3. In the slow cooker, combine the cooked macaroni, remaining butter, evaporated milk, whole milk, shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack, cream cheese, salt, pepper, and optional dry mustard and hot sauce.
  4. Stir all ingredients gently until well combined.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or on high for 1-1.5 hours, stirring once halfway through, until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy and bubbly.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious slow cooker mac and cheese.
