Slow Cooker Mac and Cheese
Creamy, comforting macaroni and cheese made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for a crowd or a cozy family meal.
Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 12 oz evaporated milk
- 1½ cup whole milk
- 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dry mustard powder (optional)
- ½ tsp hot sauce (optional)
Steps
- Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente; drain well and set aside.
- Grease the inside of a 6-quart slow cooker with butter.
- In the slow cooker, combine the cooked macaroni, remaining butter, evaporated milk, whole milk, shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack, cream cheese, salt, pepper, and optional dry mustard and hot sauce.
- Stir all ingredients gently until well combined.
- Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or on high for 1-1.5 hours, stirring once halfway through, until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious slow cooker mac and cheese.
