Steak Salad with Blue Cheese
A robust and satisfying salad featuring tender steak, crisp greens, and the tangy bite of blue cheese dressing.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb sirloin steak
- 2 heads romaine lettuce
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes
- ½ red onion
- 1 cucumber
- 4 oz blue cheese crumbles
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¾ cup blue cheese dressing
Steps
- Pat the steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.
- While the steak rests, wash and chop the romaine lettuce. Halve the cherry tomatoes, thinly slice the red onion, and dice the cucumber.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and cucumber.
- Add the sliced steak and blue cheese crumbles to the salad.
- Drizzle with blue cheese dressing and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately.
