Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 5 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cup rice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup pine nuts

Steps

  1. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and season with salt, allspice, cinnamon, and black pepper. Cook, stirring, until the beef is browned and crumbly, about 7-10 minutes.
  2. Stir chicken broth and rice into the beef in the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan, and cook until the liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add pine nuts to the skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until they are lightly browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. Once the rice and beef mixture is cooked, stir in the toasted pine nuts.
  7. Serve hot.
