Turkey Sausage and Pepper Skillet
A quick and flavorful one-pan meal featuring savory turkey sausage, sweet bell peppers, and onions.
Ingredients
- 19 oz turkey sausage, Italian style
- 3 bell peppers (any color)
- 1 yellow onion
- 3 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Steps
- Slice the turkey sausage into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Core and slice bell peppers into strips. Halve and slice the yellow onion into thin strips. Mince the garlic.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced turkey sausage and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and onion to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Return the cooked sausage to the skillet with the vegetables. Toss to combine and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.
