Turkish Chicken Wings with Cumin, Lemon & Garlic

Crispy baked or grilled chicken wings marinated in a zesty, savory blend of cumin, lemon, and garlic, finished with a touch of honey.

Ingredients

  • 12 chicken wings
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Steps

  1. Cut each chicken wing at the knuckle into two pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, combine minced garlic, lemon zest and juice, cumin seeds, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour, or overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 200C (400F). Arrange marinated chicken wings on an oven tray.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Drizzle honey over the wings and bake for another 10 minutes until crisp and cooked through.
  7. Serve hot with optional sides like olives, dates, or flatbreads.
