Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole
A comforting and creamy casserole featuring tuna, egg noodles, and a rich sauce, baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 12 oz canned tuna
- 10½ oz cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup frozen peas
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (optional)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- 1 tbsp butter (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain well.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked noodles, drained tuna, cream of mushroom soup, milk, peas, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. If using, sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- For a crispy topping, melt butter and toss with breadcrumbs, then sprinkle over the casserole.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and heated through. If using breadcrumbs, bake until golden brown.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
